2026 WINNER
We're proud to announce Jessica Warring of Valencia Park Elementary School in San Diego, CA as the recipient of our 2026 First Chance U Teacher Grant.
Jessica is a newer teacher who has already proven that a starting salary will not stop her from showing up fully for her students. From pizza parties to hot cocoa celebrations, art supplies to raffle prizes, she spends her own money to create moments that make her students feel seen and valued. As a first generation college student who relied on scholarships and grants to get through school, Jessica understands firsthand the difference that support can make. She now dedicates her career to giving that same support to the students in front of her every day. Every penny of this grant will go directly to the kids at Valencia Park Elementary.

Submissions are accepted year-round, the cutoff date for nominations are June 1st. The winning teacher(s) will be awarded the $500 grant before the start of the school year in August.
